Initiative

Initiatives let the people decide by popular vote. If our elected representatives aren't doing their job of working for the common good of the people, the people can become the 4th system of checks and balances. Initiatives serve as a form of media that allows people to make a direct vote to change laws. If we don't use initiatives, we rely on the politicians, that is simply not an option given how they have failed us in dealing with the most important issues for generations. It's time we take the initaitive, and make some ballot initiatives!

Initiatives give the voters power to change the law themselves.

Initiatives empower the people to be in charge.

Initiatives can change our state laws to regulate the legislature and international corporations, the military, the police, public services and more. We can end bureaucracies, we can punish corrupt corporations and corrupt politicians and create justice for all with the intelligent implementation of the ballot initiative process. People can create statewide constitutional amendments, statewide and local statutory laws and local ordinances can be created in many cities across the U.S. Many states without constitutional amendment and statue laws, do have laws to create local charter amendments which can open the doors to stronger direct democracy rights if people will only utilize them to their full potential.

By permanently establishing ballot access through organizing voters in solidarity for solutions, we can achieve all the goals of the people and re-establish constitutional checks and balances against tyranny.

George Washington said that there is no need for constitutional conventions when the people have the initiative and referendum process. It is very clear that the right to limited direct democracy was a goal of our founding fathers. They knew that ballot initiatives could be a crucial check against tyranny when the government grew too large and powerful representing the corporate agendas over the peoples. The argument about the majority taking away rights from the minority must be balanced through our law system. When you have a corrupt legal system, the ballot initiative process can hinder minorities. If we utilize ballot access to create new checks and balances in the legal system, the constitutional law representing the republic of ALL people, will keep corrupt initiatives from harming the minority.
